My Career Portfolio
10 Years of Academic Research
I started academic research in 2013 during my undergraduate degree at UCLA and continued research there post-grad until 2017. I furthered pursued my passion for research and graduated with a PhD in Behavioral Neuroscience from the University of Minnesota in March of 2023.
I am an innately curious person who has always had an aptitude for creative problem-solving. Academia strengthen these skills and provided me the tools to rigorously test my potential solutions to complex behavioral and computational problems.
8 Years of Project Management
My research experience has refined my team and project management skills. I have managed 10+ end-to-end research projects that needed to have clear, presentable planning and results. Each of these projects had teams ranging from 2-8 persons, each requiring me to explain our goals and maintain our progress through cloud and management softwares.
I strive to create a collaborative and collective process for problem-solving throughout the project lifetime.
9 Years of Teaching and Mentoring
During my time in research I have gained strong skills in communicating my research to an array of people and audiences. I have personally mentored 7 PhD students, 6 research technicians and 6 undergraduate researchers. Additionally, I have lectured weekly at the University of Minnesota and intermittently and Macalester College to classes from 12-50 students.
I take an empathetic approach to mentoring and teaching- providing knowledge and empowering my mentees and students to become their own independent researchers.
